You really can have the look you want and never have to worry about reapplying or fixing your makeup throughout the day! We all have busy lives, running around with little or no time for makeup application, so why bother when you can look amazing 24/7 and wake up with make up.

PERMANENT MAKEUP?

Tattooed eyebrows have come a long way in the past decade. The stamped-on effect of the previous generation has been replaced with lush, feathery tattooed brows that look downright natural. Microblading became a popular go-to brow tattooing technique for many, but now microshading and nanoblading are starting to steal the show and for good reason. Microshading is a gentler technique that creates a more natural, airbrushed look that closely resembles a powdered brow.

WHAT IS MICROBLADING?

Microblading is a type of eyebrow architecture. It is all about creating the best shape for each face.

The process is very precise, and it uses a handheld tool with ultra-fine needles to implant pigment on the epidermis layer of the skin, creating fine natural-looking hair strokes.

WHAT IS 3D NANOBLADING BROWS?

After applying a numbing agent, technicians use a machine with a fine nano needle, instead of a hand-held tool to apply pigmentation underneath the skin, making hair-like strokes that look like natural eyebrow hair. This is the newest and hottest technique on the market right now, it’s more gentler on the skin and lasts longer than microblading.

HOW IS MICROBLADING DIFFERENT FROM TATTOO?

Microblading, unlike tattooing, is not in the deep layer of skin, but more on the surface. This is also not permanent, and the color fades within 18 months.

WHAT IS MICROSHADING AND HOW IS IT DIFFERENT FROM MICROBLADING?

Both techniques are forms of semi-permanent make-up for your eyebrows, but they have a few subtle important differences.

Compared to the super precise individual hair look of microblading, microshading has a much softer finish.

Microshading, also referred to as powder brows or ombre brows, uses a tattoo gun to create pixel dots of pigment that heal to a powdery finish, which gives that soft, filled-in makeup look.

Some brow artists, however, combine both techniques to get the best of both worlds.

NOT SURE WHAT TECHNIQUE IS BEST FOR YOU?

No worries! Technicians often combine both methods to create the most realistic and natural finish, also known as combination brows.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?

On average each procedure will take:
Brows Session - 2 to 3 hours

Touch Up - 1-2 hours.

CAN YOU BE ALLERGIC TO MICROBLADING?

There are people who are sensitive and allergic to some pigments, but this is extremely rare. Our technicians can perform a patch test to quickly check for any allergic or adverse reactions before getting started.

WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENS WHEN YOU GET YOUR BROWS MICROBLADED?

  • We shape the brow area and prepare the skin for the treatment.

  • Numbing takes approximately  20 minutes using a topical ointment. While numbing, we’ll show you color swatches and discuss the best shade for your desired look.

  • Once the numbing is complete, we map the brows by measuring the area around the brows, taking into account face shape, symmetry, and facial features.

  • After the brows are mapped, we begin the needling process - gently implanting the pigment via featherweight strokes.

  • Each stroke is a superficial line in the skin where the pigment seeps in and settles.

  • If there is any discomfort at this stage we add another quick layer of numbing cream to the area.

  • Microblading is a layering process, after we add on the final layer of stokes and shading, we cover the brows with a pigment mask that stays on for 5 minutes.

  • Once we clean the area, and et voila – beautiful brows!

  • A Touch Up appointment is recommended within 3-6 weeks of your initial session to fill in any gaps that may flake off during the healing process.

HOW TO PREPARE FOR TREATMENT?

• Don’t get a facial at least 2 weeks prior to treatment.

• Don’t sunbathe or tan the day of your procedure.

• Don’t use retinol or Vitamin A products 1 month prior to treatment.

• Don’t wax or tweeze your eyebrows a week prior to treatment

• Avoid alcohol, caffeine, ibuprofen, aspirin, and fish oil supplements at least 24 hours prior to treatment.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER MY APPOINTMENT?

You'll need to follow the after-care instructions and avoid any picking or scratching. Your eyebrows will start to heal over, much like a tattoo, which might cause irritation and flaking but is totally normal.

During the healing process, your eyebrows will change color, might become flaky, and look like they've faded but this is totally normal. They'll reveal their final color and shape after 30 days.

Aftercare kits containing a 30 day supply of products needed to help maintain a proper healing process are available for purchase. Please book your retouch appointment after the healing process is complete.

HOW DO YOU KNOW WHAT EYEBROW SHAPE TO GO FOR? SHOULD WE BRING PICTURES?

Clients are welcome to bring in images of the style of brow they like or come in with the brow makeup they normally wear on a day-to-day basis. Your technician will use their expertise to help you determine the perfect color and shape based on your unique features.

Our technicians measure your eyebrows using microblading rulers and mapping string to create the perfect brow shape which is unique to each client.

Microblading lasts between 18-24 months, but the longevity of the pigment will depend on your skin type.

People with slightly more oily skin will tend to last around the 12-month mark before needing a Touch Up.

The brows will naturally begin to fade to your normal skin tone after approx. 18-24 months, if you do not stay consistent with the yearly touch up appointments.

WHAT IS THE RIGHT COLOR FOR ME?

People come in and tend to want darker brows than suggested, but it's always better to go a little more natural – you can always add more during the retouch appointment to achieve that darker bolder brow look.

We help you determine the best color based on your natural hair color, eye color, and skin tone.  We will mix several pigments that suit your skin tone and hair color. Our clients always receive “customized” pigment to enhance your natural beauty and maintain a natural look.

CHOOSING COLOR & PIGMENT?

We will mix several pigments that suit your skin tone and hair color. Our clients always receive “customized” pigment to enhance your natural beauty and maintain a natural look.

CAN WE FIX YOUR PREVIOUS PERMANENT MAKEUP?

Fixing or correcting previous permanent make up applications is sometimes possible, unfortunately there are times when there is nothing that we can do to help. If you require correction for a past permanent makeup application, please book the appointment, and we will do our best to address your situation.

If you already have previous PMU done elsewhere and would like a touch up or another brows session, make sure your tattoo has faded light enough. Always tell your Permanent Makeup Artist about your existing tattoo during your appointment. Not always we can cover work done elsewhere.

DOES MICROBLADING HURT?

It doesn’t hurt, it is more of a sensation. The process itself is not painful thanks to the numbing ointment that is applied. It's sometimes the sound of the blade that people find uncomfortable – a small scratching sound as we apply the strokes.

The entire process is very quick – it's actually the numbing and mapping that takes most of the time, you aren’t under the needle for the entire 2-hour session.

CAN MICROBLADED EYEBROWS BE UNDONE OR REMOVED?

Yes, the pigment we use leaves no scarring or discoloration. It is very important to know and understand that brows will be up to 40% darker for the first 7-10 days during the healing process where scabs can form and flake off.

Clients can sometimes leave the studio, and two days later be terrified that their brows are too dark, but please be patient, as this is totally normal! After 7-10 days, you will begin to see the final color.
